How To Use Hashtags Right

How To Use Hashtags Right

Hashtags are a great way to increase the reach of your posts and expand your brand awarenea strategy behind it. Let’s look into the hashtag strategies of LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.

LinkedIn

Best practice is to use five hashtags and to integrate them in your text if possible or place them at the bottom of your text. Some people say to use fewer hashtags than five. I agree with this when the posted text is extremely short. The most important thing with LinkedIn is not to go overboard with hashtags.

How to find them: Here is a video explaining the best ways how to find and use them.

Facebook

I recommend using 2-3 hashtags and posting them either above or underneath the text. I personally prefer them at the top of the post as it gives a brief overview of what the post is about. By saying this it makes sense to use hashtags like keywords. Ensure that they are relevant to the content you are posting about.

How to find them: Simply enter your #hashtag in the post and it will show how many followers it has.

Instagram

The world is your oyster here. Instagram allows to use up to 30 hashtags and I totally recommend using them all. Get creative and playful – Instagram is the platform of hashtags. They are best to be placed underneath the post.

How to find them: Same as Facebook, simply enter the hashtag in your post and it will show how many followers it has.

  • Research and find relevant hashtags in your niche
  • Create a list with the hashtags that you have used, so you can mix those up and reuse them
