10 Tips for Creating your Facebook Business Page

10 Tips for Creating your Facebook Business Page

When I started my Facebook Business Page, I did not know a lot of the features that are available to create an epic page. Today I will share some of the tips I have learned along the way. Let’s get right into it.

1. Pinned Post

A pinned post is the first post on your page. Its nothing else but a normal post that you write but after posting it, you pin it by clicking on the three dots at the top right of the post.

You can use this for current news, events or announcements.

I use mine as a description of my business and who I am. Facebook used to have an About Page feature which almost looked like a normal webpage with pictures and titles, but they, unfortunately, removed it and therefore I think it is smart to use the Pinned Post for this.

2. Create a Banner

The banner is the long picture at the top of your page. It is a great spot to brand the page with your logo or a picture of your business or something that shows what your business does.

If you are not sure what to do, go to Canva and check out their range of Facebook Banners. Here you can even amend the banner with different pictures, fonts, your logo and much more.

3. Design your Tabs

When creating your Facebook Business Page, Facebook automatically assigns a certain style of Tabs to you. Hold on – What are tabs actually?

The tabs I am talking about are the menu below your profile picture. You can edit and choose different tab templates. The templates available are shown in the picture below. Once you choose one you can then activate or deactivate tabs that suit your business needs.

4. Include your Newsletter sign up form

If you do your newsletters with Mailchimp you are in luck today! Mailchimp makes it super easy to connect your sign-up form with Facebook in no time.

Find out how to in my blog post ‘How to sign up to Mailchimp’ by heading to Step 4 in the Integrations section.

5. List your Services/Products

If your business is a Service-based business or sells products, it’s a great idea to upload them so people know what exactly you offer and how much your services/products are, if you like to share that info.

You can upload as many services as you like and add descriptions to each of them. The great thing is that you can tag your services or products in any of your posts later.

6. Get reviews

Reviews are always good to build trust, particularly on a Social Media platform. The next time you get good feedback from a client or customer, ask them to leave a review on Facebook.

7. Invite friends

To get more page likes and followers invite your personal Facebook friends to like and follow your page. This is particularly important at the early stages of your Busines Page as people like to follow people who have followers or likes.

Click the three dots at the top of your page and click Invite visitors at the bottom.

8. Use the button

The button I am talking about is right underneath your banner and it encourages people to take an action on your page. There are quite a few options available to choose from; such as Follow, Book Now, Call Now, Contact Us, Send Message, Sign up and many more.

9. Complete the About section

The About section is the heart of your page and often I see that people don’t fully complete it which is a shame as it builds trust to have this section completed.

In the About section, you can add your contact details, your business hours, include your Privacy Policy and a description of your business.

10. Categorise your business

As part of the About section, you should also take the advantage of the categories that your business falls into. This makes it easy for people who are interested in the services to find you.

I hope this article was helpful and that your Facebook Business Page will be up to scratch shortly. Let me know if you have any questions and feel free to subscribe to my newsletter for more helpful tips and tricks.
